A home is a sanctuary that gives families an opportunity to lead a richer life. My name is Simone Beaty. I work for Freddie Mac in the Single-Family affordable lending division. We are in an affordability crisis. If you could have afforded to live here twenty years ago, you may not be able to do that today, and it may actually uproot you from the community you were a part of. Whether you are owning or are renting, you’re facing a barrier of increasing costs. My name is Corey Aber. I work for Freddie Mac in the Multifamily affordable lending division. Where we are right now, at Victory Crossing, is an affordable property for fixed- income seniors that allows them to live in their communities. We are making a difference in the lives of all of those residents. What we do at Freddie Mac is to try to keep the cost of financing as low as possible. It’s a great example of what we’ve been doing under Duty to Serve. Duty to Serve is Freddie Mac’s opportunity to provide leadership in markets that aren’t traditionally served by the current financial market. If you can affect change. That’s a powerful thing. When you find yourself in a situation where you have the capacity to do good , you also have the obligation to do that good. I am very proud of what we have done over the last ten years to become more innovative and do more for affordable housing. Our mission is to provide access to homeownership at an affordable rate. Home is more than the walls you live in it’s the community you are part of.
