Module #4 – The Premise

Hello everybody and welcome to week 4 of screenwriting for television last week We worked on the log line and a lot of great stuff. I’m very excited to see everybody’s Ideas come to fruition here. So this week we’re gonna focus on the premise now the premise is where we’re gonna flesh out our log lines a little more so we can get a good bird’s-eye view of everything that’s happening within the three-act structure of your stories and We’re gonna add in a B and C storylines. So you’re gonna learn more about that in this week’s ted edie Lesson, which is down below here. It’s a fun way to we’re gonna watch a video about the premise We’re gonna answer a few short answer questions. There’s a good reading in there that will explain the a B and C storylines and We’ll go we’ll go on to reading a big hero 6 the series premise I had the good fortune of working on big hero 6 the series for three seasons three seasons four years of my life and so we’ll look at a premise from that and I Won’t take the same episode from premise to outline to the first after final draft It’s gonna be a great companion to what we’re doing and what we can hold our own work up to So that is going to be great. We’re gonna have a great discussion board topic this week about concept driven and character driven Premises again, that’s something you’ll see in the ted-ed video later, and then we’re gonna produce our own premises and We’re gonna flesh out our stories a little bit more it’s gonna be exciting to see them start to come to life and see new characters and and really start to understand the journeys that are going on and and The things they will learn along the way so I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with. Please. Feel free to reach out I am available Via email and I’ll try to respond to everybody’s questions as soon as possible I’ll see you guys on the discussion board very exciting week.
